The first Cure Cancer Australia Foundation charity gala ball to be held in Wollongong on May 13

CTPM’s Ross Kennedy has been recruited to a committee organising a Cure Cancer Australia Foundation charity gala ball in Wollongong on May 13. The chair is Jane Broadhead who recently returned from Perth where she spent five years in hospitality. in 2012 Ms Broadhead started ‘Jane’s Walk for a Cure’ activities to raise money for Cure Cancer Australia Foundation.  Mr Kennedy said she had since organised many charity walks and supporting events such as high teas and balls. So far she has raised close to $75,000. “Now back in Wollongong she wanted a special event that could grow each year so has formed a committee and is putting on her inaugural Paint The Gong Red gala ball with the intention of making it a premier event in the years to come,” he said.

Mr Kennedy has been asked to create a wall of 50 wines as part of the fundraising. “Adjacent to the Wall of Wine will be recognition of all the wine contributors. Hopefully the wall will generate $1,000 for Cure Cancer. Ben Wallis, of Coolangatta Estate, has kindly donated 12 bottles and Brendan Bates has donated 12,” he said.
