A Sydney cancer doctor duo has developed an app to help cancer patients reduce the emotional burden of the disease.
CancerAid now has more than 30,000 users across Australia, the UK and US.
Speaking with Sky News business, developer Dr Nikhil Pooviah said the one-of-a-kind app provides digital solutions to the types of problems doctors see daily.
‘For cancer patients who feel anxious and confused, we provide personalised cancer information,’ he said.
‘We also provide a journey organiser, for those patients managing medications.’
The app allows users to connect with others going through a similar experience.
‘We know that living with cancer can be a very isolating experience.’
CancerAid has been endorsed by hospitals, doctors, peak bodies, and works in partnership with leading Australian charities, including Cure Cancer Australia and PanCare Foundation.
